This essential course prepares learners to provide personal care in a safe, respectful, and hygienic environment. Whether you're entering the healthcare sector or upskilling in a care role, you'll develop the knowledge, empathy, and practical competence needed to support clients of all ages and abilities.

You'll learn how to assist with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, toileting, eating and mobility, always promoting the client's dignity, independence and well-being. The course also explores how to adapt to different levels of dependency, maintain safe and hygienic environments, and report on changes in client condition.

Learners will gain experience with a wide range of care equipment and understand how to support emotional, social and spiritual needs as part of a holistic care approach.

By the end of the course, you will be confident in delivering compassionate, client-focused care, whether in a residential, day, or home care setting.

This module leads to a QQI Level 5 Minor Award in Care Skills, and supports progression to further study or employment in healthcare or social care
settings.
